About Us
Rainbow South Coast is an incorporated association, which means we have a constitution, a Board, and members. Members of an incorporated association get to have a say in how the organisation is run, through voting at an Annual General Meeting, or volunteering to be on the Board.
The objectives of RSC are to:
-
Foster social connection for LGBTQIASB+ people across the NSW South Coast, including the Local Government Areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven, and Wingecarribee
-
Coordinate and deliver events that encourage community participation and support empowerment within the LGBTQIASB+ community of the Local Area
-
Act as a leading advocate on matters affecting the LGBTQIASB+ community, including engaging with media and other platforms to promote equality
-
Collaborate with LGBTQIASB+-owned businesses, government bodies, and not-for-profit organisations to strengthen the Association’s work across the Local Area
-
Act at all times in the best interests of the Association’s members and the broader LGBTQIASB+ community
-
Provide an inclusive, safe environment where Members and community participants are free from discrimination and harassment; and
-
Undertake all actions necessary, incidental, or conducive to advancing these objectives.
